Again it was a comfortable, quite, welcoming stay with agreeable and pleasant staff and the added bonus of the swimming pool all made better by a period of good clear weather.
The facilities looked promising, but in my short stay, did not get to use them. I do hope to return to the area and would look to re book.
Rooms were clean and the lady behind the bar was friendly.
I travel a lot for work and want to feel comfortable. The lady behind reception put me in a room which you had to walk through a bar area to get to. I had lots of bags and no one offered to help me. If you wanted room service you had to go to the bar to order the food. I had travelled a long way and wanted to use the spa facilities but had to walk through the bar again to get to the gym/spa. I felt very uncomfortable and would not stay their again.
Excellent location and quiet setting, nice and convenient place to explore around Lancashire and Yorkshire.
A simple, clean hotel with good leisure facilities. Friendly and helpful staff.
Leisure facilities are not open late, making it limiting for business travellers.
the freindly staff ,the room was very comfortable ,shower nice and hot ,so was the room enjoyable stay
A quiet hotel in a nice setting.
I thought the Old Mill to be tired and dated. The cups etc in my room were dirty as was the crockery at breakfast. Warm bread substituted for toast. Tv reception was poor and wi fi in my room (22) was weak and made for broken internet connections. Papers I ordered for the Sunday were not delivered yet a charge was initially made. Staff response was, " didn't you get a paper either" followed by an ofer for a grubby much read alternative. I got the impression that the staff were more interested in the sports side and not the residential side of the hotel.
The relaxation in The Spa
friendliness location facilities nice bar and good food
Good location, nicely furnished room. Good breakfast
We were dismayed to find that the lavatory didn't work when we arrived. It is not possible that the cleaner did not notice this. Whether or not this was reported, who can say? We were offered the use of another room, some distance away, but this was not convenient. A new cistern was fitted the following morning. The ketle didn't work either, but this was replaced when we mentioned it. We felt that customer service could be improved as we never passed through reception without seeing the staff member with her head down - no greeting was ever made.
Clean & comfortable. Very good leisure facilities. Some nice little touches, such as lavender to spray on your pillows, and ice water on the table for dinner. A lovely semi-rural location with attractive views of the Irwell valley and surrounding hills. A short walk to the centre of Ramsbottom and the steam railway, and town centre pubs. We would definately stay here again!
The only problem was that the staff got our wake-up call wrong. That was slightly irritating but it did not detract from a pleasant stay.
It was nice to have a pool/gym at an inexpensive hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Found theoverhead lighting a bit harsh to read by as the reading lamps were not well placed.
Good prices, good food, nice swimming pool and location
Good value hotel with friendly staff in a lovely location
Quiet atmosphere and a good sized room
Public areas need painting and the leaisure club is looking a little scruffy
The staff were excellent and the service better
